family & home finance Jan 17, 2019

Spending time with your love doesn’t have to cost a small fortune. You can have fun and spend meaningful time together while sticking to a budget. Here’s how:

1. Have a wine & cheese night

Grab your fave wine, or even one (or two!) you haven’t tried before. Pair it up with some cheese and snacks and viola! Perfection.

An added adventure here if your really feeling it is to pair wine and cheese from different countries … you can travel the world together from the comfort of your own home ❤️ …. cheesy I know (see what I did there?!)

2. Go thrifting or antiquing together

This is one of our favourite things to do. You never know what gem or next diy project you’ll find. The best part is, you don’t even have to find anything at all. Browsing history and talking about the items past and possibilities together is a beautiful way to pass some quality time.

3. Volunteer Together

Not only do studies show that acts of kindness increase overall well being and happiness, but giving back by giving time is a very romantic activity. You will build strong bonds together and with community by donating your time to a local charity, soup kitchen or maybe a school. The options are endless.

4. Brewery or Winery Tour

Most local tours are free. You will leave educated on the products and have had chance to sample them too… why wouldn’t this be on your to do list?

5. A Pool Side Hang

A$# in the water, drink in the hand, not a care in the world, sounds like a beautiful plan….. turn on the tunes (ZacBrown anyone?) and enjoy!

6. Cook

Cook together for the night or pour some wine and cook together for the week! A good meal prep session can be enjoyable when you’re dividing the duties. You’ll feel great that you spent the time together and also that you got a head start on the week upcoming.

7. A Game Night

A game night at home together or a group date, can make for a fun cost effective date night with lots of laughs and good times.

Board games, Trivia or otherwise, anything goes!

8. Eat!

A budget friendly way to feast is to pot luck. Organize for multiple couples to get together and everyone bring a snack or dessert. Great company with laughs and conversation, plus a hearty spread of foods.

9. Camp Fire

Whether your camping or home you can light a nice fire and enjoy a beverage around it. Music and conversation or just silence in each other company while you watch the stars and listen to nature. Bring s’mores for an extra special treat.

Whatever it is you decide to do just remember that making time and enjoying it together is what makes memories and builds a lasting relationship.
